Serving the adult through geriatric population, provides specialized rehabilitation clinical psychology services for comprehensive evaluation and recommendations of assigned inpatient or outpatient active-duty service members, their families, and other qualified beneficiaries. Works intimately with Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation, and Neuropsychology Services at the MTF as a key link between the two specialties. Serves as liaison to the MTF inpatient neurobehavioral unit/team. Provides recommendations that may include fitness for duty, neurobehavioral management, cognitive remediation/ rehabilitation, specific treatments, psycho education, psychological/ psychiatric treatment, suggested follow-up, and additional consultations. As needed, serves as an expert consultant regarding Rehabilitation Psychology for the MTF's Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) programs. Fully independent in the evaluation and knowledge of treatment modalities for a complex range of cases. Conducts program evaluation and clinical research. Modifies and develops rehabilitation services/programs to meet changing clinical needs of the MTF's TBI population.Provide neuropsychological and rehabilitative services for outpatients with history of TBI presenting for treatment of chronic symptoms and possible comorbid psychological health injuries. Occasional patient population may include acute concussion, SCI, stroke, and other brain injuries. Participate as part of an interdisciplinary team led by medical providers and comprised of rehab, behavioral health, and support staff. Provide services to include individual, group, and family therapy interventions, assessments, consultations, and psychoeducation. Formulate treatment plans and recommendations and implements therapeutic interventions. Serve as a consultant and resource to other behavioral health providers, medical staff, rehabilitation staff, and other patient care professionals. Provide professional and individualized training to psychology trainees. Experience with TBI is preferred.
