Board Certified Psychiatry Leader needed for Directorship role with a Multi-specialty group that provides behavioral health, addiction and primary care services across Connecticut, including treatment for mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety, opiate and heroin addiction, substance abuse, alcoholism, asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes, and much more
The Psychiatry Medical Director provides administrative and clinical leadership, management and supervision for psychiatric medical staff and all psychiatric medical service operations of the Clinic. Participates in the annual review of policy and procedure and signs off for medical oversight. Works with the Quality Department to assure medical practice follows all federal and state regulations and statues and accreditation standards. Develops and maintains medical quality assurance, pharmacy oversight, utilization management and productivity standards related to psychiatric medical services. Participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings and provides consultation as required on clinically complex cases.
Provides professional medical direction services to psychiatric medical staff to include psychiatrists and advance practice nurses maintaining and refining approved practice standards and quality assurance programs. Keeps abreast of and ensures compliance with state and federal licensing and regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Provides psychiatric medical expertise with respect to planning and establishing goals and polices to improve medical practice.
Sets and monitors performance standards for psychiatric medical staff to include productivity standards, compliance with practice guidelines, exceptional customer service and quality care and assesses, reviews and evaluates employee performance. Provides direct services 4 days per week to include psychiatric evaluation and consultation, medication management, preferably including use of medication assisted treatment for alcohol and opiate addiction, and coordination and integration with Clinic program staff, primary and specialty care physicians, including participation with multidisciplinary teaming. Provides medical oversight as required. Hires and administratively supervises physicians and nurses in psychiatry. Provides psychiatric oversight, as required
