Swedish is the largest provider of cardiovascular care in the Puget Sound Region with well established programs in Cardiovascular Subspecialties and a robust Clinical Research Program. Swedish boast the largest Cardiovascular Surgery program in the Northwest, a highly specialized interventional program with CHiP and Structural Heart as well as PERT and Shock Response Teams. The Swedish ECMO program is in its 10th year and is administered by the Advanced Heart Failure Physicians in a dedicated Cardiovascular ICU with 24hr on-site Critical Care Intensivist support. The program is the only ELSO Gold certified and DNV certified program in Washington State and includes a fetch program with better than national survival rates. The DT-LVAD program is in its 8th year with outcomes that are in line with the Momentum III trial and continues to grow. Swedish was the only or largest enroller in CHAMPION, PARADIGM, PARAGON, PARALLAX, SHIELD II, GUIDE-HF, REDUCE LAP HF, ALT-FLOW trials to name a few with excellent IRB and research support. The Advanced Heart Failure Physicians are currently leading efforts to use informatics to optimize patient care and modernize care delivery systems. There is a heavy academic, research focus within the program and looking for clinicians interested in continuing in this pursuit with main focus on Shock, MCS, ECMO and informatics. Seeking a Board Certified Advanced Heart Failure Physician to join a growing, well-supported team at Swedish Medical Groups dedicated Advanced Cardiac Support Clinic. The Swedish Advanced Heart Failure Program is a multi-disciplinary team, including five advanced practice clinicians, a dedicated pharmacist, dietician, social worker, and data analyst dedicated to all aspects of heart failure and chronic disease management both systolic and diastolic heart failure. There is also a robust Genetic, Sarcoid and Amyloid Program. Ideal candidate would also have an interest in Cardio-Oncology and/or Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy fields. There is excellent foundation support for this program allowing clinicians to innovate and grow new programs quickly.

  • Inpatient service is one week in four, clinic is a minimum three days per week with hour new and 30minute returns. This is a significant cardiogenic shock program and looking for providers comfortable in critical care cardiology.
  • Solely heart failure/cardiogenic shock/MCS-based practice (1hr for new appointments, 30min for return appointments)
  • ECMO, LVAD, and cardiogenic shock programs all managed by the Advanced Heart Failure Physician
  • 1:4 inpatient team.
  • Large opportunity for research and clinical trials, ability to lead Physician Initiated Research
  • Dedicated pharmacist, social worker, dietitian and data analyst
  • 3 to 5 years of experience is preferred
  • Compensation is $600,000 per year for 1.0 FTE
  • The compensation amounts listed may include productivity or quality/service incentives, call pay, extra shift incentives, as applicable to the position.
