Large Cardiology Practice in Eastern, Massachusetts is seeking a Structural (Interventional) cardiologist.
The outpatient practice serves a large patient base and offers extensive testing, including 3-D echocardiography, nuclear stress testing, cardiac CT, and Holter monitoring. The successful candidate would also see hospital consults in the CCU, on the floors, and in the Emergency Department and should be qualified to interpret EKG, Holter, echocardiograms, and cardiac stress tests. The interventional candidate must have “structural cardiology” training and experience (“numbers” for credentialing) in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and in procedures like Mitraclip, and Watchman.
Hospital offers EKG, echocardiography, Holter monitoring, nuclear stress testing, ICUs, and cardiac telemetry, cardiac catheterization and has a program for advanced coronary interventions, electrophysiology, open heart surgery, and TAVR procedures in their impressive hybrid operating room. There are excellent support services, including cardiac surgeons, vascular surgeons, hospital-employed cath lab PAs and NPs and a skilled cath lab staff. The structural cardiologist would rotate STEMI call with the other 8 interventional cardiologists. Each hospital team includes a cardiac nurse practitioner to assist with consults and rounding. Inpatient duties may require placement of temporary pacing wires, management of CHF, dysrhythmias, acute myocardial infarctions, and acutely-ill cardiac patients.
