Job Description

Cook County Health (CCH) is seeking a Chair of the Division of Neurology-Clinical to join an exceptional team serving patients across the greater Chicago area. This position will lead a committed staff in maintaining clinical excellence while developing and reporting on innovations in patient care for a large, high-risk patient population with a broad range of clinical problems. The Division Chair will also lead a group of attending physicians, advanced practice providers, residents, fellows and support staff to provide state-of-the-art clinical care in Adult Neurology for CCH within its hospitals and throughout its ambulatory care network. The role is responsible for the CCH-related training of fellows, residents and medical students during their CCH Neurology rotations as well as supporting, encouraging and participating in the Division of Neurology clinical research projects.   • Mix of administrative, clinical, teaching/training and research responsibilities
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical college or university is required
  • Must be licensed as a physician in the state of Illinois or have the ability to obtain Illinois physician licensure before starting employment
  • Must have Illinois and Federal controlled substance license or eligibility to obtain license prior to starting employment
  • Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology is required
  • Must have minimum 5 years of work experience practicing Neurology, with at least 2 years of this experience having occurred in an institution actively training residents or fellows
  • At least 2 years of work experience in administering clinical, educational, quality assurance or research programs related to Neurology
