Psychiatry Medical Director - Adult Behavioral Health Services 


A Federally Qualified Community Health Center offering state-of-the-art and integrated care at over twenty care sites throughout New Haven County is seeking a Medical Director for the Adult Behavioral Health Services division.


The Adult Behavioral Health Services Medical Director maintains administrative and clinical responsibility for Mental Health and Substance Abuse services. Set standards of psychiatric care and serve as a member of the Senior Leadership of the Behavioral Health Dept. Work in collaboration with Program Directors(s) and Medical Directors to deliver quality assessment, therapeutic and medication management services.  Direct supervision of mid-level providers and other psychiatrists working in the department as applicable.  Lead quality assurance of medical records, compliance with State and Federal regulations and standards of psychiatric care.


Review and evaluate clinical aspects of ongoing programs working cooperatively with CMO. Contribute to design and evaluation of an integrated Behavioral Health Dept., which is established upon principles of respectful client care, quality assurance, standards of practice, and positive treatment outcomes. Reviews and revises clinical policies to ensure compliance and accountability to internal and external authorities. Provide input to designing and implementing Performance Improvement plans, maintains quality of care and client satisfaction ratings. Perform evaluations, crisis intervention, individual, group, family therapy and/or medication management as needed. Evaluates data relating to the bio-psychosocial consequences of physical and emotional illness, disability and/or substance abuse as required.


Candidate must be licensed in State of Connecticut, and be Board certified in psychiatry. Experience in adult mental health and substance abuse. Experience with multiple levels of care preferred. Supervisory/Administrative experience.
