Temecula Valley Hospital, in Southern California's Wine Country, has an immediate opening for a Chief Resident in Internal Medicine. This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical patient care with leadership and education.

The 140-bed, five-story Temecula Valley Hospital (TVH) in Temecula, California is defining a new era in healthcare with its advanced technology and patient-focused care. The hospital opened on October 14, 2013 as a center for healing with a soothing environment that has peaceful scenic views, natural light and spacious, comfortable lounges. With more than 300 affiliated physicians, 900 employees, and 200 volunteers, TVH offers the community a comprehensive range of services similar to hospitals in large metropolitan areas. The hospital offers major specialty services, including open heart surgery and neuroscience services. TVH is also designated as a STEMI Receiving Center and Stroke Ready Hospital by the Riverside County Emergency Medical Services Agency. The Joint Commission has also designated the hospital as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center.
o 40% Hospital Medicine/Inpatient Care on resident teams at Temecula Valley Hospital through hospitalist group.
o 35-40% In teaching/education/leadership of residents and medical students (including organizing and executing teaching sessions).
o 10-15% Administrative tasks not directly related to teaching.
o 5-10% Scholarly Activity individually and resident supervision/collaboration.
The Applicant must be a graduate of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine and will be willing and able to assume the role of Chief Resident, working under the supervision of the Program Director and Associate Program Director in concert with the Program Coordinator, and directly with interns, residents, faculty, attending physicians, hospital staff, and hospital administration. The Applicant must be Board Eligible or Board Certified through the term as Chief Resident.
