Medical Director Needed in Tucson, AZ Suburb

Join a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center that focus' on the patient

The ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:

  • Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine; required.
  • Completion and maintenance of annual CME requirements for licensure (CME should be relevant to provider scope of medicine); required.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Arizona; required.
  • Prior Administrative/Leadership experience required
  • Experience in a Patient Centered Medical Home recognized setting, required.
  • Prior experience in leading, directing, and planning the delivery of comprehensive primary care services to underserved and/or vulnerable populations; preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Excellent ability to collaborate with others effectively, to exercise good judgment and discretion when appraising situations and making decisions in both clinical and leadership domains.
  • Able to deal tactfully and effectively with the public.
  • Exceptional communication skills (speaking, writing, and listening).
  • Possesses a reasonable level of knowledge of community and public health systems and issues.
  • Demonstrates excellent proficiency in diagnostic procedures and treatment of illnesses and injuries in an integrated primary care model focused on patients living in poverty and/or facing barriers to accessing care, such as a federally qualified health center.
  • Demonstrates knowledge about team-based care and provision of integrated services.
  • Strong ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents as well as to apply mathematical and statistical concepts to track clinical activities and CQI interventions.
  • Completely eligible to become or are already credentialed with all health insurance plans accepted by MHC Healthcare (MHC).
  • Exceptionally friendly, courteous, service-oriented and professional demeanor.
  • Remains calm and professional in stressful situations.
  • Excels as a team player with a "can do" attitude that can work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to establish and maintain a professional and safe atmosphere for employees, clients and customers
  • Ability to influence and inspire members of the clinical team.
  • Ability to hold staff, including fellow physicians, accountable for their performance and behavior in accordance with MHC personnel management guidelines.
  • Exceptional time and project management skills. Ability to delegate and follow up on project level activities.
