MAJOR DUTIES - Diagnoses diseases, illness disorder or injury; institutes treatment of patients; and seeks the advise of appropriate physicians for more serious or uncommon conditions. - Orders and interprets diagnostic and testing procedures to include laboratory and radiological examinations. - Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in direct management of acute and chronic illnesses and disease to patients of all ages in general clinics and hospitals. - Performs ambulatory surgical procedures as specified in the credential and privilege lists. - Provides advice by telephone and/or in person to other non-physician providers, nursing, and para-professional staff on the care of patients with urgent, emergent, and on-urgent medical problems. Performs other duties as assigned.
