With St. Patrick’s Day upon us, we thought we’d offer up a healthier celebratory beverage than the traditional green beer. According to NBC News, St. Patty’s Day can be a notorious binge drinking day. So here’s to tasty green drinks that won’t leave anyone with a hangover!
PhysEmp’s Clean Green St. Patty’s Day Smoothie is inspired, in part, by SimpleGreenSmothies.com. Our Creative Director loves the site, and she’s used their Tropical Skin Cleanser recipe as a diving board for her own smoothie. It’s rich in vitamins C, E, A, and zinc—which, as you know, are great for the whole body.
Here’s Team PhysEmp’s recipe:
1 frozen banana
1 cup fresh spinach
1 cup coconut water, unsweetened
1/2 cup pineapple, frozen
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Stevia to taste
1. Blend spinach and coconut water until smooth.
2. Add remaining ingredients, and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
We like it frosty, but you can also use an unfrozen banana to make your smoothie room-temperature. Have a healthy, happy St. Patrick’s Day!
