This city in Oregon, is situated between the McKenzie and Willamette Rivers, is the gateway to the McKenzie River National Recreation Area. Given this prime location, it's no surprise that there are many outdoor recreation opportunities. The two rivers offer excellent boating, rafting, swimming and fishing to residents and visitors. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy the fishing, sailing, backpacking, hiking and rafting activities available in Oregon's mountains, rivers and lakes which are all within a two hour drive of the city. The city has a local population of 55,000 and a service draw of 150,000.
The summer is full of many special events and festivals Fiesta Latina, the Filbert Festival and concerts in the park. This area offers local access to camping, boating, and some of the best fresh-water fishing in the state. The Lively Park Swim Center Wave Pool is a favorite with kids. Much of the communitys historic heritage has been preserved. The city hosts a growing number of businesses, as it transitions from a resource-based economy to medical services and high-tech industries.
