Urgent Care-Boston MGH-CHELSEA open to Med-Peds, Family Medicine or Internal MedicineSeeking full time or part time urgent care physicians to staff their center which is open 7am-10pm Mon-Fri (staffed until 11pm) and 7am-7pm weekends (staffed until 8pm). Shifts are 8 hrs during the week and 12 hrs on the weekends. Currently have a group of 8 full and part time physicians as well as many moonlighters. Full time physicians work one weekend/month and part time physicians work one weekend day/month. Weekday shifts are 7am-3pm and 3pm-11pm. Most shifts are staffed with 2 physicians, 1 NP and 3 nurses as well as medical assistants. Teaching opportunities include IM and Med/Peds residents that rotate through the center as well as Harvard Medical students. The center has EMR, lab, state of the art X-ray and 2 ultrasound, on-site translation service as well as IPOP phone translation in every room, 6 exam rooms, 2 telemetry beds, EKG with MUSE system and 7 computer stations. The center has 30,000 urgent care pts/yr and sees about 80-100 pts/day. Physicians see an average of 2 to 3 pts/hr. 7-8% of the pts are transferred to tertiary care EDs. Bread and butter urgent care withsomeoccupational health. No call. Work with a very collegial, supportive and highly qualified staff that offers flexibility to explore other interests including research, health policy, teaching, etc. Can teach urgent care classes in Boston toMGHresidents as well as procedure workshops.
