Salary: $161,489 - $201,861

Locums Salary: $967.50 - $1075 per 10 hour clinic shift

Share the excitement and challenges of providing care to 27,000 people in 48 villages scattered throughout a region similar in size to the state of Oregon. Help Village Health Aides, subregional clinic midlevels, and aeromedical teams extend health care to remote communities.

Eligibility for Loan Repayment up to $20,000.00 per year for IHS and up to $25,000 per year with the NHSC

This region is designated an underserved region and the Indian Health Services (IHS) and the NHSC has loan repayment programs available. Loan repayment is not guaranteed with offer of employment, as all employees must apply directly through the applicable organization.

Benefits & Compensation

Full-time employee benefits include: PTO (paid time off) of 4.5 weeks per year for the first three years, 5.5 weeks for the next three years, and 7.5 weeks after six years of continuous employment. $5,000.00 and 10 days are available for CME/CE. PEDIATRIC PRACTICE; Spectrum of Practice:

Acute, chronic and well care of complex pediatric specialty patients; Pediatric Group manages approximately 1200 chronically ill patients and over 1000 well children of mainly Yupik Alaskan decent with significant respiratory and infectious disease issues. Manage asthma, aspiration syndrome, chronic lung disease, and premature issues related to prematurely; High incidence of congenital heart disease and congenital adrenal hyperplasia, ADHD, fetal alcohol syndrome, cerebral palsy and seizure disorders: Stabilize, manage, and transport critical care and neonatal emergency patients; OCCASSIONALLY fly on medevacs to villages Assist pulmonology, neurology, genetics, cardiology and endocrinology sub-specialist during Bethel pediatric specialty clinics; Occasional visits to village clinics TYPE OF WORK: Staff outpatient continuity clinics for routine and complex care pediatric patients; One pediatrician is scheduled, on a rotating basis to cover inpatient ward and manage hospitalized children with chronic or complicated issues. They are also responsible for providing consultation to family practitioners, mid-level and village health aides; attending all high-risk deliveries and pediatric codes; and providing intensive care stabilization while awaiting transport.; On call every 4th to 5th night and every 5th to 6th weekend
