This large hospital system seeks an additional Pediatric intensivist to join the department. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) serves the healthcare needs of critically ill or injured children from birth to eighteen years of age. When on call you are allowed to go home and come in as needed. Pediatric intensivists and pediatric specialists in the areas of Pediatric Neurology, Surgery, Endocrinology, Urology, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, and Gastroenterology are part of the growing medical staff supporting our PICU patients. In addition, Registered Pharmacists, Respiratory Therapists, Nutritionists, Medical-Social Workers, and Pastoral Care provide services to patients and families through the PICU. Five beds with the latest monitoring technology are housed in the PICU and staffed by Pediatric Critical Care Registered Nurses. Approximately 16 nurses are on staff, with at least two nurses and one Respiratory Therapist on duty at all times. The unit maintains a 1:1 to 2:1 nurse to patient ratio. The comments received from doctors who interview and that have been placed here range from impressive to well-oiled. The hospital is a 400 plus bed hospital on a centralized 63-acre campus. This medical center has over 325 active physicians, over 4,000 healthcare employees and featured as a Solucient 100 Top Hospitals 4 times located twenty minutes from a downtown North Carolina city. Technological advances include Bridge Bar Coding System for Patient/ Medication safety, Cellular EKG, da Vinci surgical system, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy, Medplus Chart Maxx Electronic Medical Records, OBTraceVue Fetal Monitoring System, PET/ CT, 64-slice CAT Scanner, Ventricular Assist Devices, Virtual Colonoscopy and a Pharmacy Robot.

They have open heart, neurosurgery, and a Critical care department with four critical doctors in an open med/surg 20 bed ICU. 24/7 Radiology services provided by 18 Radiologists. All med/surg sub-specialties available in-house. It is growing to 35 beds including a 15 bed step down Unit., an 18 person Hospitalist group growing to 20. We also have a family practice residency affiliated with a major teaching hospital The ER department does 80K visits in a state of the arts ER department which includes 27 exam rooms, 9 fast track beds, and a private referral component. It is currently staffed by 18 ER doctors. This is a Level III trauma center. This hospital also has one of the oldest and well known nursing schools in the area.
