Lakeland Regional Medical Center

Our leading 851-bed Level II trauma center is seeking two more orthopedic surgeons for our growing community.

The swelling population in our area requires that we add two more to the 13 orthopods already on staff at our award-winning hospital. One spot is for a general bread-and-butter orthopedic surgeon. We also have a need for a fellowship-trained hand surgeon.

Lakeland Regional Medical Center is the fourth-largest hospital in the state. We are located halfway between Orlando and Tampa on I-4, the major East-West thoroughfare in Central Florida. As the sole level II facility serving Polk County (population 560,000) we have a stewardship to our community to provide services at the highest level.

Our hospital boasts cutting-edge facilities including recent OR renovations, robotic surgery, out-patient surgery, and a staff of trauma-orthopedic surgeons. A full compliment of orthopedic services are offered including bone density screenings, back pain and diagnosis, arthroscopy, osteoporosis, total joint replacement, partial knee resurfacing, sports injuries and navigated surgery.

Ortho patients to LRMC also enjoy a cohesive in- and out-patient rehabilitation process with physical therapists on the unit seven days week.

We are developing new strategies for delivery of service platforms and community care and would enjoy energetic, engaging professionals in these roles. The incoming physicians would have the opportunity to apply their vision and ideas at the forefront of a vibrant medical community.

There are high expectations of collaborative efforts among our physicians. A team-player attitude is a must-have as we strive toward our mission statement: 'Improving lives by delivering exceptional healthcare.' We also have a training relationship with the University of South Florida and host two rotations through the hospital - further enhancing our reputation as a leading healthcare institution.

Compensation would include malpractice and health, medical and dental insurances. Our physicians also enjoy investment strategies such as 401K, 403B and 457B plans. Salary is above the MGMA national averages and influenced depending on skill set and experience. We also have bonus incentives, PTO, CME, and negotiable relocation.
