ARIZONA EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY FOR AN ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON TO PRACTICE ON A NAVAJO RESERVATION
This highly regarded healthcare system seeks a BE/BC orthopedic surgeon to join an existing practice and partner with two highly dedicated board certified orthopedic surgeons. The successful candidate would be joining two highly qualified and dedicated orthopedic surgeons. Call is 1:3. The office is located next door to the hospital. Office hours are usually 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. working four 10-hour days per week. Monday, Wednesday and Friday are surgery days, with Tuesday and Thursday as clinic days. There are 40-50 patients per day (5-6 cases per day/scopes).
The medical facility is a JCAHO accredited health center providing services to a 4,400 square mile area with a population of approximately 45,000 and serves as a referral center for the western part of the Navajo and Hopi reservations. The hospital has a 73-bed capacity and provides comprehensive inpatient/outpatient services to the community. The staff of medical providers is both extensive and impressive.
This semi-desert area located north of Flagstaff, Arizona varies in elevation from 4,400 feet in the little Colorado River Valley to nearly 7,000 feet at Preston Mesa. The brightly colored canyons, the unchallenged spires and buttes of the Grand Canyon are within a short driving time from the facility. Most of the residents are Navajo, with a small Hopi minority. The Navajo Indian Reservation is the largest reservation in the U.S. covering approximately 25,000 miles in the states of Arizona, Colorado, Utah and New Mexico.
