HAZLETON GENERAL HOSPITAL SEEKING HAND SURGEON

To complement its growing orthopaedic service line, the Department of Surgery at Hazleton General Hospital (HGH) is seeking a board certified orthopaedic surgeon who has completed an approved hand fellowship. Certification of added qualifications in hand surgery is desired. This is a salaried, clinical position with opportunity to quickly develop a busy surgical practice. Responsibilities will include general orthopaedic surgery with the goal of developing a 100% hand practice. The successful candidate will perform surgery at both Hazleton General Hospital and a brand new, state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center housed in the Hazleton Health and Wellness Center. The Health and Wellness Center is designed to offer the total patient care experience. On site are 4 operating rooms, 2 procedure rooms, extensive digital radiology capabilities including MRI and CAT scanning, laboratory services, physical rehabilitation, retail pharmacy and a caf. The orthopaedic hand surgeons office will be conveniently located in this Center, among a variety of other medical and surgical specialty offices. HGH is growing to meet the demand for services in the expanding surrounding community. The area is considered part of the Pennsylvania Pocono Mountains, a mecca for seasonal outdoor activities. Other draws to the towns of the Greater Hazleton Area are affordable new housing developments nestled in beautiful wooded lots, safe neighborhoods in which to raise children and exceptional schools, both public and private. Hazleton is just two hours from Philadelphia and NYC.
