This need begins in June 2008.

Practice is part of a general hospital system, located off campus, in Western Nebraska. Several satellite locations are served in the Panhandle. Practice is the only psychiatric clinic in town with one psychiatric nurse practitioner. Additionally, there are four psychiatrists (3 in hospital group, 1 private practice) and one other psychiatric nurse practitioner to serve the 11 counties of the Panhandle. There is an emergency crisis team available through the ER to triage and make treatment recommendation for people in crisis. The team is comprised of various therapists from the community.

This practice's patient population is the full spectrum from 3yo to 103yo with all types of mental illness. Primarily medication management (90%) with some psychotherapy (10%). Average 5 new patients per week. Current active patients approximately 280. Several court ordered treatment patients (<3%) that require periodic letters to Probation/Parole officers giving treatment updates. Medication checks are mostly hand written notes, but phone dictation system is available if preferred. Initial diagnostic assessments are generally dictated.

The rate for this assignment is $125/hour and we will cover travel and lodging expenses.
