A hospital in eastern Virginia is seeking a Psychiatrist for a locum-to-permanent opportunity in its expanding Psychiatry department. This hospital is licensed for 271 beds. The Psychiatrist will be responsible for 10-15 adult/geriatric patients per day including both outpatients and inpatients. Cases include bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, chemical dependency and other personality disorders. Electronic medical records are utilized and complete radiology and lab services are available. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. with rotational weeknight and weekend call. Ideal candidates for this opportunity will be Board Certified or Board Eligible and must have a current Virginia medical license, although licensing will be considered for an exceptional candidate. You have the option to work as a locum for a minimum of 2 weeks before agreeing to a permanent arrangement.
