MARION, IL - Located in southern IL 90 minutes from St. Louis, MO and 15 minutes from Carbondale (Southern IL University)
Reason for recruitment: pending retirement of one General Surgeon in area.
The current call is 1:4. Medical staff is a mixture of D.O. & M.D. The hospital's primary service area consists of over 120,000 lives (and a population of 240,000 in a 30 mile radius).

Hospital has largest growth in admissions in 2004, 2005 and 2006 in southern IL. There is a Hospitalist program in place at the hospital. Heartland Regional employs a large primary care base. Coverage by 2 MD Anesthesiologists and 7 CRNAs. 5 Operating Suites, 1 minor procedures room, 2 endo rooms and a total of 4 General Surgeons on staff.
