At our Regional Medical Center, we are seeking a BC/BE General Surgeon to either join an existing practice of two (2) or establish a solo practice (cash collections guarantee or hospital employed). The current call is 1:4. Medical staff is a mixture of D.O. & M.D. The hospital's primary service area consist of over 120,000 lives (and a population of 240,000 in a 30 mile radius). Reason for recruitment: hospital/practice surgical growth
Hospital has largest growth in admissions in 2004, 2005 and 2006 in southern IL. Hospitalist program in place. Our Regional employs a large primary care base. Coverage by 2 MD Anesthesiologists and 7 CRNAs
Our Regional Medical Center opened December 22, 2002 replacing the former Memorial Hospital. This new facility is three times the size of the old facility and is the first new hospital built in southern Illinois in over 40 years. Our Regional Medical Center is a 92-bed full-service, tertiary health care facility. The facility has 68 medical and surgical beds, a 12-bed ICU, and 17 obstetrics beds, which includes five LDR's. In addition, the facility has a 26-bed same-day surgery unit, and a 17-room ER that includes eight acute care rooms, three fast-track rooms, and a four-bed chest pain center. The facility has five surgical suites, plus two endoscopy rooms and one special procedure room. Expanded tertiary services include open-heart surgery, angioplasty, stent implantation, atherectomy, neurosurgery, and level II nursery in OB. Open-heart surgery and related procedures began in the Spring 2003.
Designated an emergency resource hospital, Our Regional Medical Center offers a full range of emergency services including trauma, acute medical care, pediatrics, orthopedics and cardiac care, with 24-hour coverage handling more than 24,000 cases per year. Outpatient rehabilitation services include physical, occupational, and speech therapy, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, and wound care services.
