Kodiak, Alaska -- Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center and a solo private radiologist are partnering to bring another radiologist to serve the community. Solo radiologist wishes to split a practice with flexible one-month-on, one-month-off schedule in magnificent Kodiak. Low volume, good income. Work in well-funded critical access hospital with modern department equipment. Most equipment is less than nine months old: Fuji Pacs MRI (1.5T Philips Intera 8 channel magnet), Philips 64-slice CT, new Philips X-ray and Fluoroscopy, new 3-D Toshiba US including OB, CR digital mammography. Infrequent basic interventional procedures (no nuclear medicine). Teleradiology call coverage available. An outstanding medical staff and supportive community make this an ideal practice situation. Light schedule allows focus to be on the highest quality of work and customer service. Self-employed or salaried options.

As the only hospital on Kodiak Island, Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center is truly a "critical access" hospital. The 25-acute-bed critical access hospital with 19-bed long term care facility plays an indispensable role in the lives of the island's 13,000 residents and others in the region's many remote villages. Visiting specialists supplement the hospital's primary and specialty care physicians, allowing us to provide advanced care beyond what would otherwise be possible here.

Kodiak is a busy small city on Kodiak Island famous for fishing, huge Kodiak brown bears and lush forested mountains. But Kodiak Islanders also pride themselves on lesser known features, including excellent public and private schools, organized youth sports, several churches, museums preserving the island's fascinating history, and community events of one kind or another practically every week. Kodiak Island's tight-knit population of 14,000 residents is surprisingly ethnically diverse, with significant groups of Alaska Natives, Asians, Hispanics and Pacific Islanders. Nature is never far away in Kodiak. Within minutes of the hospital you can be beachcombing, watching for sea lions and whales, jogging through a magnificent forest, fighting a feisty salmon on a pristine stream, or well on you way to the top of Pillar Mountain, which overlooks the port and city.

Providence Kodiak is part of Providence Health & Services, a not-for-profit network of hospitals, clinics and physician partners in Alaska, California, Montana, Oregon and Washington.
