PULM 149-Pulmonologist/Intensivist opportunity in western MA. Hospital employed position shared equally with well respected medical groups with more than 50 physicians and 13 offices. Work and time commitments will be split 50/50 between the Hospital and Medical Group but scheduling will be very flexible. The position will involve pulmonary inpatients and outpatients and ICU work. Surveys have shown a significant volume of work from our market is being managed in other hospitals because of insufficient Pulmonologists. We believe a third will be needed if we market our capabilities appropriately. 6-bed ICU. 24/7 Hospitalist team often consults and admits on pulmonary and ICU patients. We are moving to 100% Hospitalist/Intensivist first call coverage of pulmonary/ICU. Pulmonologists will provide second call. Hospitalists can manage 90% of the calls. An average ICU census is 3.4. Weekend coverage would be 1:4 requiring 2.5-3 hours daily in the hospital. Evening coverage calls average 3. Support services are state-of-the-art with 64-slice CT, Two new digital mammography units and a just completed womens imaging center. Our two new and energetic Radiologists are willing and able to introduce all the latest techniques. The ORs are the largest, newest and best equipped in the area.
Second option would be to join the medical group with a two year partnership track:
