Due to a recent resignation, an opportunity is open to join a very attractive hospital psychiatry department. The position is to work on an inpatient unit carrying 14 patients. There is no weekday call, but weekend call once a month. The full-time position is 37.5 hours a week. There are residents on the unit during the week, and internal medicine physicians do the history and physicals. Psychiatrists do not do any consults; they are free to focus on the patients on the unit working with stable, experienced support staff.
The salary begins at $180,000, additional for experience. There is a very generous benefits package. This hospital exceeds the national average in staff retention; many psychiatrists have been there for many years.
The location is very convenient to many residential areas in the northeastern corridor of New Jersey. This is commutable from Cherry Hill as well as many other locations, with easy access to Manhattan.
