This is a permanent need. The salary starts at $170,000 and up. This position is full time, never any call after 5PM. The physician has responsibility for half of the census ( averages around 18 - 19). Also consults in the medical beds.....these have been averaging 5 or less for the month. It is 65% adult, 7% adolescent, 28% geriatric. It is 100% inpatient. There are 26 beds in the unit. There are 2 psychiatrists on the unit. There are 4-5 admissions and discharges per day. The average length of stay is 3.5-4 days. The medical physician handles the H&P's. There is no medical director of the unit. There is no night call, no weekend call but there will be 1 weekend of rounds a month. 16-18 patients will be seen on rounds. Denver is the near metro area with 575,000 people.
