Great Opportunity for a Psychiatrist on a Navajo Reservation. Is That You?

Our client seeks a BE/BC adult psychiatrist to join its established behavioral health team and partner with one other highly dedicated psychiatrist, and six mental health professionals in a well-established psychiatric practice.

Practice Details: 4 day work week (10 hour days) Enjoy 3 day weekends! Inpatient consults at Tuba City Regional Hospital (next door to clinic). Psychiatry staff which consists of two social workers, one counselor, and three psychiatric techs (who conduct in-takes). Seeking psychiatric nurse practitioner to join team. Average patients seen per day 12-15 Call is shared with team members only on call one night per week by phone.

The medical facility is a JCAHO accredited health center providing services to a 4,400 square mile area with a population of approximately 45,000 and serves as a referral center for the western part of the Navajo and Hopi reservations. The hospital has a 73-bed capacity and provides comprehensive inpatient/outpatient services to the community. The staff of medical providers is both extensive and impressive.

This semi-desert area located in Arizona varies in elevation from 4,400 feet in the little Colorado River Valley to nearly 7,000 feet at Preston Mesa. The brightly colored canyons, the unchallenged spires and buttes of the Grand Canyon are within a short driving time from the facility. Most of the residents are Navajo, with a small Hopi minority. The Navajo Indian Reservation is the largest reservation in the U.S. covering approximately 25,000 miles in the states of Arizona, Colorado, Utah and New Mexico.
