Jacksonville is the hub of a mini-system serving the residents of Jacksonville, Cherokee County and surrounding communities. Number of Operating Beds: 94 Number of employees: 379 Medical Staff: Jacksonville includes 30 active staff physicians and 50 courtesy staff members. Specialties represented include anesthesiology; cardiology; family practice; gastroenterology; general surgery; internal medicine; OB/GYN; oncology; ophthalmology; orthopedic surgeon; otolaryngology; pathology; pediatrics; podiatry: radiology; and urology. Major Services: Ambulatory surgery Bone densitometer at Women's Reference Center. Diagnostic services including a fully equipped laboratory and radiology department with X-ray, CT scanner, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, stereotactic mammography, EEG, EKG, a GI laboratory and mobile MRI. 24-hour emergency department with a fully equipped, 24-hour emergency department (Level III trauma center) with ground ambulance service and Air 1 emergency helicopter.
