South Dakota Pediatrics

Childrens Hospital and the University of South Dakota School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics is seeking 1-2 BE/BC pediatric intensivists to join two intensivists in a brand new 12 bed state of the art PICU. Clinical services include working in a multidisciplinary PICU and managing a busy sedation program. All ICU patients have involvement of the pediatric intensive care team. The unit resides in a brand new childrens hospital with a total of 146 beds. SCH is a rapidly growing institution providing a wide breadth of pediatric medical and surgical services. The pediatric transport team is an active part of the medical practice and is served by helicopter, fixed wing, and ground support. Admissions average 500- 600 per year and the unit maintains a multidisciplinary mix of patients and is founded on collegiality and mutual support. Additionally, a pediatric residency program will start within the next 24 months and research opportunities and support exist for those interested.
