New England Physician Recruitment Center
Join our innovative Department of Pediatrics at Bassett Healthcare. We are seeking a BC/BE Pediatrician to join our visionary team as we revolutionize rural pediatric practice. School Based Health and growing academic opportunity blend seamlessly with our insistence on the very highest quality patient care to bring great professional satisfaction to our providers. Bassett Healthcare and affiliates is a network of physicians, providers, hospitals and community health centers in eight counties, covering 5,000 square miles. The Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital (doing business as Bassett Healthcare), the foundation for this network, is a 180-bed, acute care inpatient teaching facility in Cooperstown. The hospital maintains a strong academic program and rich tradition as a center for learning through its affiliation with Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and other educational institutions. The Bassett Physician Group is comprised of a full-time, salaried, closed staff numbering 240 physicians and other doctorate-level professionals in a multi-specialty group practice. The Bassett Clinic is located on the same campus as the hospital and provides outpatient primary and specialty care. Additionally, Bassett offers 24-hour emergency and trauma care, comprehensive cancer care and heart care, dialysis, and most medical and surgical specialties in Cooperstown. The Bassett Research Institute conducts programs in basic science, clinical science, and population and public health studies. Around the region, the network provides primary, preventive, and outpatient care at 28 health centers and operates 13 school-based health centers. In addition to MIBH, acute inpatient care is provided at network sites: O'Connor Hospital in Delhi, Cobleskill Regional Hospital, Little Falls Hospital and Tri-Town Regional Hospital in Sidney. Outpatient specialty care is available throughout the region with Bassett specialists seeing patients at many of the health centers and Bassett network sites. Approximately four hours from New York City, the Central New York area is rural with lush rolling hills; small cities, towns, and villages; a few major highways and a lot of country roads. The landscape is beautiful and the area is rich in four season cultural and physical activities. Cooperstown, a lakeside resort community, is home to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, The Farmers Museum (a living history museum circa 1845), The Fenimore Art Museum (houses the Thaw Native American Indian Collection and American fine and folk art), and the Glimmerglass Opera House.
