The Department of Surgery, Division of Pediatric Surgery at Scott & White and the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine is looking to grow its Division of Pediatric Surgery with well qualified candidates for both junior faculty and Division Chief positions. A commitment to teaching general surgery residents and medical students is required, and investigative interests and ability are desired.
The Division of Pediatric Surgery will play a critical role in the vision of the institution to grow its Scott & White Childrens Hospital services on a national level. Academic appointment and rank through Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine is commensurate with experience and qualifications, as are research support and facilities. The Department of Surgery consists of 10 divisions with more than 65 clinical and research faculty, several residency programs and an ACS Level I Trauma Center.
Scott & White is the largest multi-specialty practice in Texas, with more than 600 physicians and research scientists who care for patients at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple and within the 17 regional clinic system networked throughout Central Texas. Over $250 million in recent expansions have been completed, including a new Center for Advanced Medicine (500,000 sq ft hospital expansion with dedicated pediatric inpatient and ICU units The Childrens Hospital at Scott & White), a stand alone Continuing Care Hospital, a community regional campus in the Austin, Texas area (Specialty Clinic & Hospital), and aggressive growth in our Regional Clinic System. Other hospital affiliations with the system are anticipated over the next few years.
