What Penn State is looking for: They are looking to employ two Pediatric Gastroenterologists. Candidate one: A junior faculty member interested in clinical practice, medical student and resident education and clinical research. Candidate two: A more senior faculty member interested in clinical practice and assuming some administrative responsibilities. The Medical Center 500-Bed Award Winning, Academic Facility o Has a fi veyear, $700 million expansion plan o $100 million is devoted to the construction of a new, stand alone Childrens Hospital Penn State Childrens Hospital has 120 licensed beds and treats more than 5,500 patients annually. o Level III NICU o PICU has received the highest rating for its care to medical, surgical and trauma patients via PICU Evaluations Work in a division including: Three Pediatric Gastroenterologists One Behavioral Psychologist Two Nurse Practitioners One RN, One LPN and One Staff Assistant Th e expectations for a new physician: Four clinical sessions each week One procedure day each week. All procedures performed with Pediatric Anesthesiologists. Evenly divided 1:4 call Call is 1:4 evenly divided taken on a weekly basis. Types of things seen on call: GI bleeding, routine GI admissions, consults from ER, outside hospitals and GI patients. Take consult calls from ER dont staff call in the ER.
