The Opportunity: Immediate opportunity to join an existing well-established solo (assisted by a PA) orthopedic outpatient surgery practice in response to a significant community need in Walterboro, South Carolina! Incoming physician will be challenged from day one with substantial volume. Sports Medicine training is a plus but not necessary. Call is shared by existing surgeon and supported by team of 14 hospitalists at Colleton Medical Center. Office space is available with the potential for partnership.
The Hospital: Colleton Medical Center is a progressive 131-bed acute care hospital dedicated to providing high quality primary and specialty medical care. Also located on our medical campus are a newly constructed surgery center and a very active community fitness center.
The Community: Extending through the southern coastal region of South Carolina, an area affectionately called the Lowcountry, lies Colleton County. The fifth largest county in South Carolina is home to Edisto Beach, the ACE Basin one of the largest undeveloped estuarine ecosystems in the United States, and Edisto River one of the worlds longest free-flowing blackwater rivers. This treasure of natural resources serves as a backdrop for the City of Walterboro and Colleton Medical Center. Walterboro is a wonderful small community located approximately 45 minutes west of historical Charleston and the Carolina shoreline.
