A large academic affiliated hospital located just 30 minutes from Boston is looking to expand their employed orthopaedics practice.
Call here is a light 1:4 with a strong ER staff and 24/7 Hospitalist coverage. They also have Citrix in place allowing you to read live films in real time from your home computer. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING! Typically the surgeons do 2 days total in the OR (with flexibility to schedule 2 full days or 4 half days in the OR depending on your personal preference on how YOU like to work.) Overall, you can customize your schedule to a 4-day work week.
The practice located just 4 miles from the hospital - has onsite lab, onsite MRI, and onsite physical therapy. There is an even nicer open MRI at the hospital and a brand new 64-slice CT. This employed group is currently comprised of 3 Orthos, 2 PAs (and 2 more Orthos who are semi-retired and only do patient screens and consults.) They are looking to expand now to better meet the needs of the communities they serve.
Good mix of your preferred subspecialty and general cases; up to 50/50 depending on the subspecialty. All Anesthesia in the OR is performed by Anesthesiologists; no CRNAs.
Strong referral base There are 16 primary care offices whose practitioners mainly refer to this employed group. Academic affiliation with a prestigious medical school (presenting Resident teaching opportunities if you want and possible faculty appointments when available)
