The new physician can choose to join a group or be hospital employed. This is a general ORS opportunity and can incorporate fellowship training if desired. NO SPINE. Call 1:9. They employ 3000 people and are licensed for 447 beds. The hospital is equipped with 16 ORs. They perform on average 400 open heart surgeries a year and have two Cardiac surgeons and 4 Neuro surgeons. The hospital is affiliated with Jewish hospital which is based out of Louisville Kentucky. Their Level 2 ER has 5 trauma rooms, 8 acute beds, 11 fast track areas, and 8 unit medical care, and has about 66,000 visits per year.

Owensboro is the industrial and cultural hub of western Kentucky. Located along the southern banks of the Ohio River, Owensboro is the third largest city in terms of population in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

This city has some of the best schools anywhere. Both the city and county school districts consistently score high on achievement tests. They teach 17 different languages and they are national recognized for their educational teaching. In addition, there is a strong religious community of many faiths located here.

The cost of living in Owensboro-Daviess County is low compared to most metropolitan areas. Housing, utilities and groceries are all below the national average.

Owensboro is known as a city of festivals. Festivals and special events fill much of the Owensboro area's summer calendar. The festivals include musical entertainment, carnival rides, and more than 100 booths selling handmade arts and crafts. Throughout the summer, a variety of musical styles can be enjoyed at Friday After Five, a series of free concerts each Friday evening on the downtown riverfront at the RiverPark Center.
