Pocono Medical Center (PMC) has an immediate need for a BC/BE orthopedic surgeon. Fellowship training or interest in orthopedic trauma is preferred. The need exists because of the rapid population growth in the communities of northeastern Pennsylvania served by the hospital. The area is known as the Pocono Mountains and is located just 75 miles west of NYC and 90 miles north of Philadelphia. PMC has a new 41-bed emergency department that records over 75,000 annual patient visits, 10 new surgical suites and a large ambulatory surgical area. In collaboration with Lehigh Valley Hospital, PMC is pursuing Level III trauma certification. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a busy orthopedic practice quickly. The successful candidate will have the option of being employed by the hospital, joining an existing practice or establishing his/her own private practice.
