We are the largest provider of hospital services in the southern part of the state and draw from an area of over 250K. Our need is for a motivated individual to do general orthopedics as well as total joints. We recently completed an 18 million dollar renovation of our ORs which includes the latest, overhead equipment and very spacious rooms. We have also just broken ground on a 20+ million dollar MOB which should be completed by 11/09. There is exceptional medical and nursing staff and a very supportive and responsive Administrative team. PACS is throughout the facility and offered, and supported, in your office and home. We also provide dedicated nursing staff to coordinate the care of your inpatients. A stipend is available to the resident/fellow who is willing to commit. A very competitive salary and/or income guarantee, relocation, student loan repayment and very generous sign on bonus is offered. Although there are only 2 general orthopods at our facility, call coverage is 1:5. Our General Hospital, southern West Virginia's leading medical center, has served the city of Beckley and surrounding counties since 1921. It is licensed for 300 beds and services an area of over 250,000. RGH just completed an 18 Million Dollar renovation project to upgrade and enlarge its OR space which includes overhead, state of the art equipment. Currently, there are 8 OR suites, a 12 bed SICU with 3 pulmonary critical care physicians that cover, a 12 bed CCU and a 12 bed step-down unit. Each year the hospital admits 12,000 patients, delivers 1,650 babies and treats 50,000 people in its Emergency Department. Approximately 6,000 inpatient surgeries, 7,300 outpatient surgeries and 6,000 endiscopies are also performed annually. There are 5 radiologists with 24/7 coverage. PACS is located throughout the hospital as well as physician offices and their homes if they like. RGH has an 8, 16 and 64 slice CT, PET/CT, 1 open and 2 closed MRIs, Nuclear medicine, Ultrasound and Mammography. There is a group of 5 anesthesiologists and 7 CRNAs.
