This is a hospital employed position - Current volumes are approx. 15/day by MD, 20/day in Chemo Room Physician referrals are great as a strong relationship with the medical staff has already been established. There is the possibility to do some work with clinical trials. They use Sunrise Disease Manager, a computerized oncology manager system. The staff is comprised of 3 full-time RN?s (2 are Oncology certified and between them have 40-50 years nursing experience), 1 part-time RN, 1 secretary. The hospital resources make the service provision smoother, chemo drugs from Pharmacy, on-site Laboratory and Imaging Services, etc. The salary is upwards of 300K depending upon experience. Through the Medical Center strategic plan that was presented in early 2005, Oncology Services are at the TOP of priorities over the next few years. The Medical Center is allocating a great deal of time and financial resources to Oncology Services to build the service to where they feel it should be.
