The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University Brody School of Medicine is seeking a Chief of Gynecology Oncology and a Gynecologic Oncologist. The successful candidates must be BC/BE in OBGYN and eligible for or currently hold a certificate of special competence in Gynecologic Oncology from the American Board of OBGYN.

The division is clinically active; GOG affiliated, and supports investigator-specific trials. These positions will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecologys annual clinical volumes include approximately 3,200 deliveries, 600-650 maternal transports, 200-250 new cases of cancer, and an in-vitro fertilization program that performs 80-100 cycles. The Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program is composed of twenty (20) residents and the Medical Student Clerkship program is composed of an average of twelve (12) students on a six (6) week rotation. Approximately ten (10) percent of the graduating medical students enter obstetrics and gynecology residencies. The cancer center provides the full spectrum of support for a busy gynecologic oncology practice: surgical oncology, radiation oncology with gamma and cyber knife, medical oncology and a fully staffed clinical trials office and tissue bank.

Hospital (H), a Level 1 Trauma Center, is the teaching hospital directly connected to the Brody School of Medicine. PCMH currently offers minimally invasive robotics options for hysterectomy, sacrocolpopexy, myomectomy and gynecologic oncology procedures using the state-of-theart da Vinci Surgical System. H has been a training site for robotics surgery since 1999, and currently houses three da Vinci Surgical Systems; two are available for scheduling procedures and one is stationed in the robotics surgery-training center.

Cancer Center is the regional center that serves 1.3 million residents of Eastern North Carolina and offers comprehensive care for women and boasts the most advanced radiotherapy technology in the state of North Carolina. The center currently has ten medical oncologists, one gynecologic oncologist, and six surgeons with expertise in breast, thoracic, gastrointestinal and endocrine cancer surgery; two pediatric oncologists; and four radiation oncologists. The centers care is organized in multidisciplinary groupings to provide the best coordination and facilitate the delivery of cost-effective and cutting edge care. The ACGME accredited medical oncology program has a total of nine fellows who participate actively in the care of the centers patients. Cancer patients who meet the eligibility criteria may stay free of charge at the American Cancer Society's McConnell-Raab Hope Lodge during treatment.
