Olympia, Washington -- Providence Neurosurgery Clinic is searching for a BE/BC Neurosurgeon to join the practice in 2009 or 2010. This is an employed opportunity with a guaranteed base salary and a productivity incentive based upon Work RVUs -- regardless of patient insurance. As Providence employees, each neurosurgeon receives paid vacation, paid CME, medical benefits, retirement, and relocation. All practice expenses, as well as occurrence-based malpractice insurance, are employer paid. Physician Assistants work in the clinic, assist with call, and provide surgical assist. Community call is 1:4 or better, and call is for one location (Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia), which has five smaller community hospitals referring to it.
Providence Neurosurgery Clinic opened in September 2005 and expanded in 2008. The office is a modern, custom-built space of 6,500 square feet situated near the hospital. The practice includes neurosurgeons Yoshi Yamamoto, MD; Sheila Smitherman, MD; Brian Iuliano, MD, and Sudesh Ebenezer, MD; and is part of the Providence Physician Network of Southwest Washington, an expanding network of 80+ providers. Neurosurgeon profiles can be found at: www.providence.org/swsa/find_a_doctor/ppnsw/neurosurgery/default.htm
Our new neurosurgeon will be selected based on behavioral and values match as well as a clinical skill match. The successful candidate will have a low ego/low temper and enjoy practicing in a team environment with a conservative surgical philosophy. Training from a well-reputed neurosurgical training program is required, and the candidate must be ABNS board eligible/board certified. Fellowship training is a plus but not required. Neurosurgeons with interests in the areas of complex spine or peripheral nerve will best complement the existing group, but other interests will be considered.
