South Carolina - Internal Medicine Pediatrics Job Description: Opportunity for 1 internal medicine/pediatric physician to join a group of 5. The group has 2 offices and supports two hospitals both within fifteen minutes of each other. Candidates should be:Board certified or eligible in internal medicine and pediatrics. The call will be 1 in 6.
In 2002 this not for profit hospital System opened new campus, to meet the needs of the county's rapidly growing service area, one of the state's best-known tourist meccas. THE Hospital has added beds in two separate expansions and today has 111 beds, including 29 acute inpatient rehab beds housed in Rehabilitation Center, on the facility's third floor. The hospital recently began a major expansion project to add a fourth floor.
In 2004, Hospital System opened a $10 million cancer treatment center in which offers local cancer patients the opportunity to receive both chemotherapy and radiation therapy without being forced to leave the county. Recent additions to the organization include a new advanced Imaging Center at Medical Park across from the Hospital. The new facility opened in summer 2006 and offers state of the art open MRI and breast imaging capabilities. A Breast Health Center within the building offers a variety of imaging capabilities designed for routine breast screening and diagnostic purposes, including MRI Breast Coil technology that provides technologists with breast specific MRI capabilities and stereotactic breast biopsy services. In addition, a complete educational resources library is available at the center. The Breast Health Center offers digital mammography for a first time to women in both counties.
