Our Medical Center is a 104-bed, JCAHO accredited community hospital recently acquired by Community Health Systems (CHS), the nation's leading owner of non-urban community hospitals. Plans are underway to construct a replacement facility ready in 2008 in Shelbyville, TN. With negligible managed care, good schools and a low cost of living, this is a great community.

A growing community of 18,000 (with a service area of 40,000+), Shelbyville needs more Internal Medicine/Intensivist physicians to meet community need. We are currently looking for 2 new Internists and one Intensivist to keep up with the demand. This is an excellent opportunity for BC/BE Internists interested in building a busy practice, either solo or forming their own group, in this welcoming, home-town atmosphere less than an hour from the excitement of Nashville's thriving music and entertainment scene. Shelbyville, the site of the National Walking Horse Celebration, is surrounded by beautiful horse farms with rolling pastures and verdant forests.

With a significant capital investment and support from CHS, our Medical Center is becoming a first class medical resource for it's community. This is a great opportunity to become part of the future for this growing community. Office space is available in an on-campus medical office building, and hospital call is just 1:9 (includes FPs). Currently there are only 2.5 IMs in the community.
