hospitalist at our MedCentral/Shelby Hospital location. He is very busy and could use your help. He will primarily continue to do all of the hospitalist work. He would like to find an Internal Medicine physician who has a geriatric subspecialty background to work in his office in a traditional Internal Medicine office setting seeing approximately 22-23 patients a day to start. He has a Physician Assistant in his office currently. Hes considered hiring a 2nd Physician Assistant, if needed, as soon as possible, too. Fellowship training in Geriatrics is desirable, but is not necessary. Call 1:2, on a rotation basis, flexible on working out a schedule. Parnership is available within 2 years. This is a salary based position with competitive benefits including a bonus once expenses are met for the physician. Physician may also manage inpatient rehab patients.

Shelby, Ohio is a family oriented community of approximately 10,000 people. It is located approximately 25 minutes from Mansfield, Ohio, which is situated an hour north of Columbus, Ohio and one hour south of Cleveland, Ohio. Medcentral/Shelby Hospital has been designated a Critical Access Hospital effective August 1, 2004. This hospital offers 25 staffed/registered beds (5 OB, 20 acute care-including 8 telemetry and 4 ICU).

The physician specialties that are available in the community to support the physician in the practice include: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Hema/Onc, General Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery, Urology and Cardiology. This hospital has 16,000 ER visits annually. There are approximately 1-2 admissions per day. A new 15,000 sq. ft. addition to the hospital to house three new large surgical suites, a minor procedure room and an updated support space is being constructed and opened in the summer of 2008.
