Candidate must be board certified or eligible with plans to complete within two years of hire. Due to a lack of cultural diversity in our community, they should possess strong english skills to effectively communicate with patients and staff.

Ideal candidate will have been in practice less than 10 years to allow for succession planning in the department. Physicians should be willing to practice in a rural community based facility in northern Michigan with an average snowfall of more than 150 inches.

  • General Internal Medicine practice with three physicians (2 combined office- hospitalist Internists and 1 Hospitalist 7 on 7 off) and three nurse practitioners.
  • Offering a full time office practice with minimal call responsibilities, only as needed for coverage of the other three physicians who currently rotate care of inpatients.
  • Enjoy a wide variety of cases with minimal sub-specialists available on site.
  • Practice located in professional medical building attached to the hospital.
  • Certified rural health clinic servicing two counties.
  • Electronic Health Record shared with medical group
  • Hospital employed position with generous benefits including paid malpractice insurance.
  • 2 yr guaranteed salary with option to convert to RVU productivity-based incentive pay at any time during the two years or be phased in at the end of the 2 yr guaranteed period.
