South Dakota Hospitalist

The schedule will be either 6am to 6p, or 7am to 7pm. This will be a 7 on 7 off schedule with no call. There will be about 15 patients per day per physician, and an average of 2 to 5 admissions per physician per shift. There will be about 4 hospitalists during the day with 1 admitter, and 2 RNs per day shift. Pulmonologist/Critical Care backup and every subspecialty are available for backup at the hospital. Privileging takes about 30-60 days, but there are temporary privileges available. Being able to do lumbar puncture, thoracentesis and paracentesis is a plus.Tour the local breweries, enjoy the numerous recreational activities, or experience the exciting night life.
