Ohio Hospitalist

200-bed hospital in southern Ohio is in need of Hospitalist coverage starting mid August. The group plans to hire a new hospitalist and will be using locum tenens contractors while interviewing for permanent candidates. Dates of coverage in August would be from 8/20 to 8/31. There would be the opportunity to have 7-14 shifts a month ongoing until a permanent candidate is surfaced. There is also permanent potential for locum tenens contractors and a great way to try out the opportunity and get a feel for the community before committing long term. Hours will be 7a7p. The Hospitalists work 812 hour shifts depending on the patient load. Daily patient census is 15-20. Average number of admissions per day is 3-5. Hospitalists will not have to handle ICU, codes, or procedures. There are Pulmonologists and Critical Care Medicine Physicians onsite. Responsibilities include rounds, admissions, discharge summaries, consultations and H&Ps. The Social Services Department assists with arranging follow up care. Candidates must have recent inpatient experience. Family Practice candidates will be accepted as long as they've been practicing inpatient medicine within the past year.
