Hospital is located in a rural community with easy access to Muncie, Fort Wayne, and Indianapolis. The Program is structured as follows:
Shifts:
Day shift: 7am-7pm for lead Hospitalist, with variable end for secondary Hospitalist depending on census. Day shifts are staffed by either two Hospitalists, or a Hospitalist and a Nurse Practitioner.
Evening shift: 7pm-7pm: currently staffed by one Nurse Practitioner, using day Hospitalist back-up for rare telephone calls.
Schedules:
Each hospitalist (regardless of day or night shift) works a minimum of 26 weeks per year on a 7 day on, 7 day off basis. Coverage includes general inpatient medical units, critical care unit (with pulmonary and cardiology support), and consultative co-management of surgical patients. During the time off, there is the ability to tap into educational opportunities at St Vincent Indianapolis for procedural training or other requests.
Hospitalist Compensation:
Generous base salary competitive for local hospitalist market. Performance bonus (paid in quarterly increments) based on quality measures and other criteria and engagement in broader program initiatives.
