Gaylord Hospital is an acute care hospital that specializes in the care and treatment of medically complex patients. Gaylord has one of the most comprehensive brain injury rehabilitation programs in the East. Although the hospital has treated people with brain injuries for decades, the formal program began in 1980.
Licensed as a 137-bed chronic disease hospital, Gaylord is located on 500 acres of countryside in Wallingford, Connecticut. Included on the campus is a country club and golf course.
Gaylord has a complete electronic medical record with Dragon capability.
Gaylord Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO).
The Hospitalist team of 8 physicians will be on-site 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Each full time hospitalist will provide 168 to 192 hours of clinical professional medical services per month consisting of 12-hour shifts. The Hospitalist team will complete daily rounds, provide support for the daily care needs of the patient, work with care team to establish and meet goals as they relate to the patients care plan and to facilitate patient admissions/discharges.The Hospitalist team will provide service response for codes, consultations, inpatient episodic care and procedures for complex medical and pulmonary patients including ventilator weaning.
Wallingford, Connecticut is a town of approximately 45,000 known for upscale suburban lifestyle, excellent schools and outdoor leisure activities. Just minutes from New Haven and Hartford with gourmet dining, theater, professional sporting events and shopping.
Easy access to Connecticut shoreline and the mountains for skiing. Two hours from New York City and Boston.
