10 person hospitalist group is looking for a Medical Director. To be qualified for this position you should have leadership skills, have knowledge of documentation and coding compliance requirements, financial decision and retention practice, and experience with quality improvement issues. You will work 15 shifts per month. They will be mostly day time shifts, but may have to do 2-3 nights per month. They are trying to eliminate the night shifts for the Medical Director. The shifts are 12 hour shifts. This is a 24/7 program. The hospital that you will work out of has 265 beds. This community is located on the beautiful coast of Southern California, located between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. The population is 180,000 people. The cost of living is high comparitivily to the rest of the country. Offering both mountains and the beach and warm weather most of the year, this area is an outdoor paradise. This is an employed position. The earning potential is $240,000 plus bonuses which are based on RVU production. Also, you will recieve bonuses based on the override of the success of the group on both quality and RVU.
