We are assisting a hospital in Arizona with the recruitment of physicians to start a new Hospitalist program. Below are some points of interest:
235 bed hospital will offer an employment agreement to physicians hired for the new program. The plan is to have an 8 physician department. Currently the schedule is 7:30-4:30, M-F, with no call. Patients will be seen at night and during the weekends by local physicians in their regular call rotations. When the program reaches 4 providers, they will switch to a block schedule. Even though the hospital has 2 Intensivists, there will be some ICU responsibilities. Volume will average 12-16 per shift. Hospital will offer a competitive starting salary, and full benefits package. The second year will start to include an incentive plan.
