Seeking a Board-Certified Breast Medical Oncologist who will provide medical direction, coordination and oversight for a leading, hospital-based Southern California breast center. The incumbent will develop a clear vision and mission for the breast center in conjunction with administration, and develop a plan to implement new programs. The Director will support and encourage an effective and collaborative multidisciplinary team for breast oncology and provide leadership to engage a large number of specialists in improving clinical outcomes and develop customer service standards to exceed the needs of our patients and their families.
The Director should also have an interest in research, as he or she will support the centers cancer research program and encourage participation in national clinical trials and physician-initiated research. Candidates should be board-certified in Medical Oncology with a sub-specialist in Breast Oncology. A recognized and published leader in the field of breast cancer is highly desirable.
Position is located near the coast in beautiful Southern California. The area boasts a lovely Mediterranean climate with an average of 333 sunny days per year and an average temperature of 75 degrees. Four freeways, rapid transit to Los Angeles and busy suburban centers along with established residential neighborhoods are in the area. Major four-year universities, along with award-winning elementary and secondary school districts, are all located nearby.
